PONTIAC, Mich. - A fire displaces 40 people, many of them seniors with disabilities, who were living in a senior home in Pontiac. It happened at the West Manor Senior Apartments on South Paddock.
The fire quickly spread from one unit on the top floor to the others just before 6 p.m. Saturday afternoon. It took several departments to get it under control.
Luckily, all residents were accounted for and safe, thanks to a fast evacuation and people who lived nearby rushing in to help get the seniors out.
Right now, there is no known cause of the fire. The fire department will be out there investigating and checking for hotspots into Sunday.
