6 Warren firefighters honored for going beyond call of duty

They put their lives on a line for a living but on Monday, six Warren firefighters are being honored for going above and beyond the call of duty.

If you Google the word "hero" the definition that follows is "a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities." and that word applies these six firefighters who were honored by Warren Mayor Jim Fouts for their outstanding service.

Scott Halleck, Russell Rivard, Jeff Slone, Anthony Valente, Joel Ricketts And Christopher Lipka are the six who were honored for not only what they do while they're on the job, but what they did off of it as well.

From buying Christmas gifts with their own money for a 6 year old who wouldn't have gotten anything otherwise, to erecting a tree for a resident confined to a hospital bed to making deliveries for meals on wheels when an 81-year-old woman couldn't, these hero's stepped in.
