(WJBK) - The search is on for a man who allegedly abducted his own daughter over the weekend and now the baby's mother is speaking out.
Police say around 1:35 a.m., 3-week-old Bella Osterman was forcefully taken from her home by her father, Cordney Osterman, in the 3300 block of Garfield.
The child was turned over to police Saturday morning by the suspect's grandmother. Police are still searching for the father.
"I never once said he couldn't get her. I never even told no one she was kidnapped or he was going to harm the baby, so that's something they added in on their own," the baby's mother told FOX 2.
Cordney is described as a 23-year-old black male with a light complexion and medium build, with black eyes, black hair and a beard and mustache.
If anyone has seen Cordney Osterman, or knows of his whereabouts, they are asked to please call Detroit Police Seventh's Precinct at 313-596-5700, 313-596-2250 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
