Ad for Kanye West Yeezys takes over Detroit Free Press, Detroit News
DETROIT (WJBK) - The front pages of several newspapers around the country look a little different on Friday.
The Detroit Free Press and Detroit News are among ten newspapers whose front pages were taken over by a giant ad for Kanye West's Yeezy Boost 350 sneakers.
The ad says "We Love" in eleven different languages and the picture below the words shows a circle of dancers wearing the new shoes, which go on sale today.
The Free Press says this is the second time its offered up the entire front of its print edition to an advertiser, and that they ordered extra copies for sneaker aficionados.
Other papers to run the ad include New York Post, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, The Philadelphia Inquirer, San Francisco Chronicle, Houston Chronicle and Metro.
Yeezy sneakers are a popular brand collaboration between the rapper and Adidas. Usually when he produces Yeezys, it's in a limited collection so this is said to be the first Yeezy that's widely available. A pair also costs considerably less than others.
Kanye's triple white Yeezy Boost 350 V2 is on sale now for $220.
