Airline employee killed at Oklahoma City's Will Rogers World Airport
The Oklahoma City Police Department said a Southwest Airlines employee was killed after a shooting at Will Rogers World Airport and the suspect is still on the run.
Oklahoma City Police Capt. Paco Balderrama says police have confirmed one victim in Tuesday afternoon's shooting in the parking lot at the airport. He says police received reports of a possible second victim, but authorities have not yet found that person.
According to KOKH in Oklahoma City, the shooting happened around 12:50 pm local time. Police identified 52-year-old Michael Winchester as the victim who was shot and killed.
Winchester, an employee of Southwest Airlines, was transported to a local hospital where he later died. Authorities initially searched for a second victim, but now do not believe a second victim exists.
According to live video fed to FOX 2, the airport has been shut down.
Balderrama says all streets are blocked off and people should avoid the airport.
Police spent the afternoon searching cars in the airport and say they believe the shooting is an isolated incident and that they do not believe they have an active shooter at this time.
