Trump launches ‘Freedom 250’ push for America’s 250th birthday

President Donald Trump is kicking off America’s monthslong birthday bash celebrating the 250th anniversary of the country's founding with a new nonpartisan organization dubbed Freedom 250 that will lead the administration's celebrations, Fox Digital learned.

In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, a new design theme will be printed on the 10-cent coin this year.

Here are the details of the Emerging Liberty dime design:

The design is called Emerging Liberty, and changes include a Liberty bust on the front and an eagle’s talons on the back.

Dig deeper:

On the front, the Liberty bust replaces President Roosevelt. "She faces the tyranny of the British monarchy," the U.S. Mint said. "Her liberty cap bears stars and stripes, at once a symbol of our burgeoning Nation and a reference to early American coinage."

Inscriptions on the front include:

  • LIBERTY
  • IN GOD WE TRUST
  • 1776 ~ 2026

And on the back, an eagle in flight carrying arrows in its talons replaces the torch, olive branch and oak branch. The U.S. mint says this is representative of the American revolution and the colonists’ fight for independence.

Inscriptions on the back include:

  • UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
  • E PLURIBUS UNUM
  • ONE DIME
  • LIBERTY OVER TYRANNY

Why is Roosevelt on the dime?
