Annual marshmallow drops in Wayne Co. canceled for rain

A beloved Easter tradition for many families in Wayne County was canceled Friday due to rain.

The Marshmallow Drops in Trenton and Westland were canceled, but event organizers still promised some activities for families that came out.

"We can't control Mother Nature so we're going to have some prizes for the kids that do come out; you can drive right up so you don't even have to get out of the car and get wet," Kim Healy with Wayne County Parks told us.

Healy said they waited to make the call as long as they could, as this would've been the 100th anniversary of the drops.

You can still come get some of those prizes at Elizabeth Park from 8:30 a.m. - 10 a.m., and also at the Nankin Mills Park in Westland from 10:30 a.m. - noon.
