Authorities: Fisherman found floating in Lake Erie, dies

MONROE, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say an 80-year-old fisherman pulled from Lake Erie off of southeastern Michigan has died.
U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Lauren Lauglin tells The Detroit News that the man was found floating face down in the lake on Tuesday. Laughlin says the man had been fishing with a companion on different boats and somehow they got separated.
The Monroe News reports the Royal Oak man was wearing a life jacket and his boat was found a short distance away in water that was about 10 feet deep. He was found about a quarter-mile from Bolles Harbor and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The man's name wasn't immediately released.
