Authorities recover bodies of 2 missing duck hunters from Lake St. Clair
HARRISON TWP, Mich (WJBK) - The bodies of two missing duck hunters were recovered from Lake St. Clair on Sunday morning.
The men have been identified as father and son, 59-year-old Timothy Hughes and 24-year-old Daniel Hughes.
Their bodies and boat were found in Canadian waters, about 4 miles from Seaway Island.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office received notification from the Jackson County Sheriff's at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday that two men who were duck hunting on Lake St. Clair were overdue to return home.
Macomb County officials initiated the search at sunrise Sunday, with assistance from the St. Clair County Sheriff's, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Canadian Coast guard.
The truck and trailer belonging to the missing men was located near Metro Beach in Harrison Township.
