Bicyclist shot in the head on Detroit's west side, bullet makes a surprising exit.

Detroit police say around 12:15 Sunday morning a 61-year old man was on his bike at Northfield and W. Warren when he heard shots fired. 

Police say one of those bullets hit the man in his head but investigators say the bullet did not stay there. Instead the bullet left the man's body through his nose.

The man pedaled his bike to a  liquor store located a few feet away. 

Despite being shot in the head, Police say the man was able to ride his bike to the store and make it inside where police were contacted.  

When police arrived they were able to recover the bullet at the scene.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.

Investigators are still looking for the person who pulled the trigger. If you have any information contact police immediately.
