Car goes into Lyon Township pond after remote start malfunction

Lyon Twp, Mich. - Lyon Township fire officials are scratching their heads after a car became submerged in 16 feet of water Saturday morning.

The cause? A remote start malfunction. 

According to the Lyon Township Fire Department, the car owner used a remote starter and when they went to the vehicle the car was submerged.

There was no one in the car at the time and no one was injured.
