Rockwood police threats lead to charges against 18-year-old
An 18-year-old man is accused of calling in threats to the Rockwood Police Department earlier this week. Authorities said Jason Stacy said he was going to shoot up the police station in voicemails.
ROCKWOOD, Mich. (FOX 2) - A suspect accused of threatening to shoot up the Rockwood Police Department is facing numerous felony charges for the calls.
On Friday, Jason Alexander David Stacy, 18, was arraigned on charges of false report of threat of terrorism, using a computer to commit a crime, and malicious use of a telephone to threaten.

The backstory:
According to authorities, voicemails threatening to shoot up the police department were received Wednesday morning.
After the calls were received, city buildings were closed out of an abundance of caution. By 9 p.m. that day, Stacy was in custody.
Police said during his arraignment that Stacy said he did not know why he chose to call the Rockwood Police Department to make the threats, debunking speculation that the threats were related to the arrest of a Detroit high school student in Rockwood led to his deportation this week. Police said Stacy told them he allegedly made the calls after waking up from a bad dream.
No weapons were found during a search of Stacy's home, police said.
Stacy's attorney noted that he has schizophrenia but has not been taking his medication. He does not have a criminal record.

Maykol Bogoya-Duarte, a Detroit high school student, is currently in Louisiana awaiting deportation back to Columbia after he was detained in Rockwood while driving to a field trip.

Stacy was given a $500,000 cash bond.
His preliminary exam was scheduled for July 1.
