Chelsea Clinton makes campaign swing through Michigan

Days after her mother visited Michigan, Chelsea Clinton made a campaign swing through Flint and Detroit.

Clinton met with community leaders working to support children and families to discuss how her mother would make a difference for Michigan families as president.

In Flint, Clinton toured Hurley Children's Center and met with Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, the the lone doctor who sounded the alarm about Flint's water crisis.

"Chelsea runs the Clinton Foundation and she's well-connected so I'm hoping that she shares her story with her well-funded friends and gets us the research we need because we know that government will not cover everything," Hanna-Attisha said.

Following the visit the health center, Clinton met with plumbers from the UA Local 370 who have been replacing faucets, delivering water and installing water filters in Flint homes.

"What can we be doing to support the plumbers and the pipe fitters who are trying to put filters on as many faucets as possible to stop the low levels of lead from leaching into the water, to identify places where filters aren't possible so families know they must continue to use bottled water for everything," Clinton said.

Clinton was then slated to travel to Detroit to join Mayor Mike Duggan in a tour of YouthVille Detroit, an after-school engagement program that works with at-risk young people.
