The City of Detroit said on Tuesday that it will close all three of its municipal golf courses unless a new contract is reached.

According to the city, Detroit's Chandler Park Golf Course, Rackham Golf Course and Rouge Park Golf Course will all close before golf season even starts this year, unless a new contract is met.

The Office of Contracting and Procurement led a six-month procurement process that led to the selection of a qualified vendor to operate and manage the three courses. On Tuesday, the city council voted not to approve the contract with a 4-4 vote.

The current contract expires on March 22, meaning all three courses will close on March 23.

Rouge Park Golf Course is near Plymouth and Burt Roads on the city's west side, Chandler Park is just south of 94 off of Dickerson Avenue on the east side, while Rackham is in Huntington Woods just off 10 Mile.
