Crash victim reunites with Good Samaritan who helped keep him alive
(WJBK) - A beautiful moment Friday as a man is reunited with the woman who kept him holding on after he suffered a seizure and crashed on I-96 last week.
Just nine days have passed since Siobhan Thomas and Deandre Hagar had seen each other. You might've thought it was a lifetime - you'd think they were lifelong friends, but they were strangers up until the accident.
Deandre suffered a seizure while driving on I-96 near Livernois. As FOX 2 told you Wednesday, he wanted nothing more than to meet the Good Samaritans who helped him during the crash.
Thomas was one of the people who came to his aid. She was driving behind Deandre when she saw his car swerve, roll onto the ditch, roll back, cross lanes of traffic and hit the median wall.
"I do apologize for breaking your window but I didn't know what else to do," Thomas told Deandre. "I used my mother's cane."
As soon as he saw her Friday, Deandre knew one of his guardian angels was Thomas.
"I'm forever grateful for you guys. Now sitting here looking at you I remember your face," he said.
Many hugs were shared, and the holidays were saved.
