DPW contractors are making progress plowing residential streets as the city continues to clear its major roadways until Monday morning.

City crews have been working around the clock since Friday 2am.

Private contractors provide updates on status of clearing residential streets and have 24 hours to clear 1880 miles of roadway.

Residents are urged not to park on side streets, if possible.

After receiving 1.5 inches in additional snowfall, Detroit DPW crews continue plowing and salting the city's 673 miles of major roads and will continue working around the clock until all major roads are cleared.

Contractors are reporting to the city that overall, 40% of residential streets have been plowed and that the city will send out its own inspectors to verify the work that has been reported as complete.
