Dashcam: police use PIT maneuver to stop suspected drug dealers

Two suspected drug dealers were busted Monday afternoon after a chase in Pontiac. Deputies say they were tossing drugs out the windows and it was caught on dashcam video.

Deputies stopped the two men using a PIT maneuver. PIT stands for Precision Immobilization Technique. An Oakland County Deputy used his patrol car to put an end to a chase, arrested a 51-year-old man from Bloomfield Hills and his passenger, a 56-year-old man from Pontiac.

Undercover agents say they spotted the men making a drug deal and tried to the pull the white Chevy over. That's when the men took off, sparking the chase.

According to the sheriff's office heroin and pills were thrown from the car as it drove away from law enforcement. News of this arrest does offer a little comfort for Alfonzo Merritt who lives nearby. He says there are a lot of kids an older people nearby, causing concern.

"Two less in this neighborhood.  There are a lot kids in this neighborhood," Merritt said. "We have to be more aware and keep a watchful eye out on things that are going on."

He said the area is quiet but when it comes to drugs, no place is off limits.

"They go whereever and anywhere, wheerver the money is they will find someone to buy it."

No one was injured during the chase and only minor damage was done to the patrol car.
