Deadly crash on I-94 near Van Dyke

This MDOT camera shows the eastbound lanes of I-94 shut down Saturday morning near Van Dyke following a deadly accident.

One person was killed in a crash involving multiple vehicles on I-94 near Van Dyke early Saturday morning in Detroit.

The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Emergency crews responded and had the eastbound lanes completely shut down by 4:10 a.m.

Traffic was diverted off the freeway at Mt. Elliot and allowed back on via the Van Dyke entrance ramp, which is located just beyond the accident scene.

All lanes were reopened just after 9 a.m.

We're told two other victims were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
