A deal has been made for a plot of empty land at the Woodward/I-696 corridor.

On Friday, June 8, the Royal Oak Downtown Development Authority (DDA) closed on a deal to sell the undeveloped 4.15 acres to Singh Development Company. The land is on the south end of Main Street, near the Detroit Zoo.

Singh plans to build a mixed-used building on the land, that will have 240,000 square feet of residential space and 10,000 square feet of ground level retail space.

The building will bring 225 more residential units to the area. They'll range in size from 550 to 1800 square feet.

Construction is estimated to be done in the spring of 2021.

The deal for the land went through for $2.5 million.
