Detroit city council president in car accident

(WJBK) - A city council member was involved in a car accident on Saturday afternoon.

Police said Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones was involved in a weather-related accident with another vehicle, causing minor damage to both cars.

She was driving a city vehicle.

Police say alcohol was not a factor, but the slick conditions on the roads caused by the rain.

Jones was not harmed in the accident.
