Detroit Dog Rescue holds annual dog fashion show
BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (WJBK) - It's the fashion show that's gone to the dogs -- quite literally.
Canines and Couture was back again this year at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.
FOX 2's Amy Lange was emcee and Erika Erickson was one of the models walking the runway in superhero costumes with her pug, Hank.
A number of dapper dogs and volunteers with Detroit dog rescue strutted their stuff on the catwalk - all to raise money and awareness - on average it costs about $1,100 to get each rescued dog treated and rehabilitated and ready for a forever home.
Detroit Dog Rescue is the city's first no kill shelter. Some of the dogs on the runway Sunday are available for adoption at detroitdogrescue.com.
