Detroit man charged with death of 2-year-old boy

DETROIT (FOX 2) - A Detroit man is facing charges in the death of a 2-year-old boy.

Police arraigned 28-year-old Randon McMeekins at the hospital on Friday morning. McMeekins told police he found the boy unconscious at their home in the 9300 block of Cloverlawn and drove him to the emergency room.

Police arraigned 28-year-old Randon McMeekins at the hospital Friday morning.

An autopsy of the boy showed he suffered blunt trauma injuries to his chest.

McMeekins is being charged with murder and child abuse.

Police initially believed and told us that the boy was the son of the suspect, but the boy's family has since told us McMeekins is not the boy's father.
