Detroit mother who killed 2 kids will get no-parole sentence

DETROIT (AP) -- A Detroit woman who killed two of her four children and stored the bodies in a home freeze is returning to court to be sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Mitchelle Blair has expressed no remorse for killing a son and daughter. An eviction crew made the shocking discovery of bodies in the freezer in March.

The 36-year-old Blair is expected in court Friday, about three weeks after pleading guilty to first-degree murder. Her no-parole sentence is mandatory. She has said that she would be willing to be sentenced to death, but Michigan doesn't have the death penalty.

Blair killed her 13-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son. She says they had abused a sibling, though she didn't witness the alleged assaults and never reported anything to police.
