Downtown Royal Oak's newest ice cream shop iFreeze Creamery now open
ROYAL OAK, Mich. (FOX 2) - The newest dessert spot in downtown Royal Oak, a shop serving up liquid nitrogen ice cream, is now open.
IFreeze Creamery, previously located in Sterling Heights, soft-launched Saturday with plans for a grand opening in the next few weeks.
The treat shop features a variety of both regular and non-dairy ice cream flavors that are made in front of you. Liquid nitrogen ice cream is made by freezing regular ice cream with nitrogen instead of ice, a change that makes it creamy and smooth.
Choices include house mixes, such as cookies and cream and java chip - which can be made non-dairy - along with dairy-only options such as Nutella and caramel brownie.

There's also build-your-own ice cream and milkshake options with more than a dozen mix-ins and toppings.
Expect an expanded menu and more treats, such as crepes in the future, too. Keep an eye on social media for updates, including the grand opening announcement.
IFreeze is at 310 W 4th St.
