DPD looking for teens who escaped from custody on east side

The Detroit police are searching for four teenage males that escaped from a treatment facility on the east side.

A police source said that at about 8:20 p.m. the prisoners ran past staff security and out into the streets near East Grand Boulevard and Charlevoix.

The four teens are: Kenyatta Saxton, 17, Deonte Kenny, 17, Michael Robinson, 16 and Duane Brown, 16.

They were being held for non-violent property type crimes including a stolen car, retail fraud and a probation violation. 

"There were no crimes of violence that we could find they were being held for," said Capt. Darren Szilagy.

The treatment facility is the Don Bosco DePaul Center.
