Driver wanted after man on bicycle killed crossing Groesbeck

Police are looking for a driver after a fatal hit-and-run in Warren.

A 60-year-old man from Eastpointe was killed while he was riding his bike across Groesbeck Super Bowl Sunday. Police say the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. near 10 Mile Road.

Police have released surveillance video from a nearby business that shows the moments leading up to the crash. You can see the video in the video player above.

Warren police commissioner Bill Dwyer says the vehicle involved appears to be a Dodge Charger, 2015-2016 model dark in color. Dwyer says the car now has a missing window and likely other front-end damage.

Police also believe the driver was speeding at the time of the crash.

"If this person would've stopped he would've been facing much less than what he's facing now," Dwyer said. "We're not sure if the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol or drugs or what. Normally that's the case in these particular situations when somebody leaves the scene of a fatal accident."

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.

If you were in the area and saw anything you're asked to call Warren police.

Police have not yet given the name of the victim.
