Excitement for 2016 at 'The Drop' downtown

Metro Detroit came out in force to ring in 2016 downtown at Campus Martius and Cadillac Square.

A few thousand were expected to be on hand for the festivities at the sixth annual "Drop."

Live music, ice skating, bonfires, face paiting and more were going on as the D counts down to the new year.

FOX 2's Josh Landon was there and shares some of the action.
