Family of Taylor Marine who died from fall suing for $100M

The family of a Muslim Marine recruit from Taylor who died in boot camp is suing the United States government.

At just 20 years old, Raheel Siddiqui died following a fall at a training base in South Carolina back in March of 2016. Now his family is suing for $100 million.

The family didn't believe what the Marines were telling him, saying Raheel died by suicide from falling down three flights of stairs. His family contends there might be something criminal, contending that Raheel is Muslim and that could have been a role in his death.

A preliminary investigation showed he was physically abused, hazed and called a terrorist by his drill instructor.

20 Marines may face disciplinary action after Taylor recruit's death

So far, 20 Marines have been disciplined in the case. The drill sergeant and battalion commander face upcoming trials in military court.
