Father to be charged after son's shooting death
DETROIT (WJBK) - The father of the 9-year-old boy who died after a gunshot wound to the head will be charged in connection with his son's death.
Authorities say Daylen Head found a loaded shotgun that was not secured and shot himself. This happened earlier this week at a home in the 6600 block of Barton in Detroit.
Daylen's father, Christopher Head, will be charged with several counts, including second-degree murder. Other counts include manslaughter, child abuse and several weapons charges.
Daylen's school, The Academy for Business and Technology Elementary School has set up a GoFundMe account to help cover his funeral expenses.
