Firefighters battle massive house fire along I-94

DETROIT (WJBK) - Crews have been on the scene Tuesday morning for hours at a massive house fire near Interstate 94 and Van Dyke.

The fire's flames were at their most intense around 5 a.m., and were extremely close to a BP gas station on the corner.

Crews took extra precaution to keep the fire from spreading.

The home was a total loss. The homeowner tells us he was renovating the home and it was empty at the time of the fire.

We're told arson investigators are on scene.
