A young cancer patient took an oath to fight 'the bad guys' inside of her, as she was sworn in as an honorary police officer in Texas.

Abigail Rose Arias has been battling lung cancer for the past two years and has always dreamed of becoming an officer. Thanks to her friends at Freeport Police Department that dream came true.

On Feb. 7, dressed in a custom uniform, little Abigail took to the stand. During the emotional swearing-in, the police chief had her pledge to continue fighting the “bad guys” until she is cancer free. Once she finished her vows, the room erupted in cheers.

But there's more, the Mayor and City Council passed a proclamation naming Feb. 7, 2019 as Freeport Police Officer Abigail Rose Arias Day.

The pint-sized officer spent the day doing very important police work and shared cake with hew police family-- did we mention there were also doughnuts.

Here's to kicking cancer's butt!
