Gunman sought in Detroit strip club shooting

Detroit police are looking for a man who opened fired in the parking lot of a club on Detroit's southwest side early Sunday morning. A young woman was killed and a young man is recovering in the hospital.

Detroit police have released surveillance images, hoping it helps catch the shooter.

The video shows a man running through the parking lot after the shooting, getting in his car and driving away. The man is wearing a hoodie, which he has pulled up over his head.

Police say the victims were getting into the cars early Sunday just after midnight when the shooting happened outside Club Venus, which is on Michigan Avenue at Wyoming Avenue.

A 24-year-old woman was killed, and a 23-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the hand. He's recovering in the hospital.

Right now, police aren't sure why the shooting happened.

The parking lot of Club Venus borders the parking lot of Victory Inn, a hotel that was raided by authorities earlier this year for drugs and prostitution. The hotel has now been closed and the windows are shuttered.
