The Associated Press reported that Merriam-Webster, the country’s leading dictionary company, sells roughly 1.5 million of them annually.

Most of the dictionaries are routinely improved but not fully changed like the "Collegiate Dictionary," Merriam-Webster President Greg Barlow told the AP.

The organization’s retail sales overall have been steady in the last few years, Barlow shared. But print sales represent a small percentage of Merriam-Webster’s revenue.
