Hazel Park woman stabbed to death on Hughes Street, boyfriend in custody

A 37-year-old woman was found dead in Hazel Park around midnight last night.

A neighbor heard screaming and fighting coming from Natalie Urso and her boyfriend next door, who had just moved into the house. The argument was heard around 11 p.m. Thursday night. When police responded with a welfare check, they found the woman dead.

"I couldn't believe it, I said "She's actually gone. I can't believe it," said the victims's grandmother.

While the grandmother never saw signs the victim's boyfriend could kill her, she mentioned hearing he had made threatening remarks.

The suspect, who had fathered who children with the victim, was driven to the victims house around 11:30 p.m.. After he had come home, his current girlfriend noticed the man was acting strangely. Police don't believe she knew what had happened.

After the girlfriend called the police, the suspect was later arrested at her house, late Thursday in Centerline. Along with the arrest, officers also located a knife, which is believed to be the murder weapon, near a religious youth center.

Police aren't sure when the suspect could be arraigned.
