Henry Ford Health System to lead national health study to improve treatment plans

Henry Ford Health System has been chosen to lead a new national study to determine what makes someone healthy.

The study looks at our genetic makeup, our environment, our lifestyle, the food we eat and more.

Dr. Christine Cole Johnson of the Henry Ford Hospital says the study is incredibly exciting.

"Physicians have always tried to tailor or personalize the treatment of patients, but now there are a lot of tools available and now we are just learning this is at the cusp ... We're going to find out what it is about a person's metabolism, their heritage, genetics, their proteins, their cell receptors, and be able to personalize treatment just for them," she said.
