UPDATE: A heavily armed murder suspect has surrendered to police peacefully on the west side.

The barricaded standoff, which lasted for more than two hours, was arrested at about 6:20 p.m.

A SWAT team was stationed outside the Ohio Street house where the man was hiding. The suspect was believed to be armed and may have multiple guns inside the home.

The suspect, 17 years old, was wanted in connection to a fatal shooting of a 24-year-old.

Mylin Jenkins was an aspiring model and dentist and had just turned 24 on Friday. He was out celebrating with friends on Sunday night.

Friends say Jenkins was at a house on Steel Street where his birthday party was wrapping up Monday morning. According to them, he was spending extra time with a 17-year-old.

Jenkins was parked in the driver seat of his car when the 17-year-old suspect sitting behind him allegedly pulled out a gun and shot him in the head.
