Huge pothole along I-75N won't be repaired until Tuesday morning

UPDATE: The large pothole at Spingwells is expected to be repaired by Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The right two lanes of northbound Interstate-75 closed during the Monday morning commute due to a abnormally large pothole. The pothole is near the Rouge Bridge at Springwells.

At one point, around 25 drivers were pulled over on the shoulder with flat tires after driving over the pothole. The Michigan Department of Transportation tweeted out this photo of the pothole, saying repairs are coming soon.

It is unclear at this time how the pothole came to be this size. The MDOT courtesy van is at the scene. We're hearing repairs may take all day.

FOX 2's Maurielle Lue is at the scene, and tweeted out this photo of what the pothole looks like from underneath the bridge:

She also spoke with multiple drivers who got a flat tire this morning. You can hear their stories in the video player above.
