I-75 reopened after downed phone line closes highway at Sashabaw

A downed utility line forced I-75 to close in both directions at Sashabaw road in Clarkston for about an hour on Tuesday.

The Michigan Department of Transportation reported the closure around 11 a.m. Tuesday at I-75 in both directions at Sashabaw after a power line went down across the highway.

Traffic maps from MDOT showed traffic stopped and being diverted off the highway.

Just before noon, DTE got to the scene and determined the line was not an electrical line. DTE said the line was a phone line and it has been removed from the road.

The highway was opened just a few minutes later in both directions.
