Kayaker's body recovered in Waterford's Pleasant Lake

WATERFORD, Mich. (WJBK) - A lost kayaker's body has been recovered by dive teams from Pleasant Lake late Wednesday night.

At 10:22 p.m. police say the man's body was discovered in 13 feet of water. The victim who is in his 40s, is believed to possibly be a resident near or on the lake in Waterford.

A resident called 911 to report seeing a kayaker go under and not resurface in the area of Edgelake Drive, about 40 feet from shore at 7:30 p.m.

A man in his 40s reportedly was seen yelling for help by a witness. One person used a peddle boat to try to reach the man but was unable to.

No further information has been released about the victim.
