Man found hogtied pulled from burning SUV in Detroit
On the east side of Detroit a kidnapped man was saved from his burning SUV.
DETROIT (FOX 2) - A kidnapped man was found at the scene of a burning SUV on Detroit's east side Monday morning.
What we know:
Detroit police say the vehicle was discovered engulfed in flames in the 18400 block of Mt. Elliott at Stockton.
The man, who owned the burned SUV, was taken to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
Witnesses saw him hogtied inside the burning GMC Yukon. A neighbor was able to pull him out.
According to sources the man was taken from Southwest Detroit and transported 15 miles to the city's east side where he was apparently left for dead inside a burning SUV.
"I woke up and I was like what is going on, why are there all these alarms," said Nila Robinson. "The dogs are barking and everybody is going crazy. There was a little boom off a car explosion."
"I heard the fire trucks, the dogs and all the commotion, it was wild," said Karri Penzak. "In this neighborhood there's no telling (what happened).
What we don't know:
The man's injuries and whether he was tied up are not known. It is unclear how he knew the suspect or suspects or why he was targeted.
Detroit police are investigating what led to his kidnapping.
