We are wearing our pink and getting excited for Saturday - it's the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

About 20,000 are expected to take part in the Detroit event, scheduled for 10 a.m. at new location Hart Plaza.

"We'll be right at 1 Hart Plaza," said Steve Windom of the American Cancer Society Detroit. "We will have great stage activity, a survivor tent, some new things going on this year with a new photo booth.

"We have parking very close to the vicinity of Hart Plaza."

Windom said the walk will be an out and back along the Riverwalk this year, meaning walking in a loop - allowing participants to not do the whole 5K route if they wish not to.

"We have a one-mile route," Windom said. "And anytime anyone gets too tired and can't finish the full 5K they can go back to Hart Plaza for all of the fun."

There is also a rolling start, which means if you want to sleep in a little, you can.

"Usually we start at 9 a.m.," Windom said. "But this year we have a rolling start which means anytime between 9 and 10:30 a.m. you can hit the route and enjoy the 5K and come back for the fun."

Participants can show up as early as 8 a.m. to register. For more information on the walk details, to donate or register, go to the website by CLICKING HERE.
