Man accused of choking father's dog to death at Macomb County home
MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. (FOX 2) - A man is facing charges after authorities say he choked his father's dog to death on Tuesday.
Deputies with the Macomb County Sheriff's Office were called to a home on Prinz Road in Richmond Township around 5:25 p.m. after receiving a call about a dead pet and a person possibly making threats.
Deputies learned that a 48-year-old Richmond man was home alone with his father's labrador retriever when he strangled the dog. The suspect's father returned home as he had his arms around the dog's neck. According to the sheriff's office, the father was unable to remove his son's arms from the dog's neck.
The suspect then threatened to harm himself.
Authorities said he was uncooperative with deputies. He was arrested for third-degree killing/torturing animals.

The suspect, who has not been identified, is expected to be arraigned on the charges Friday.
