DETROIT - A woman attacked in an alley and sexually assaulted at gunpoint in Detroit.
The incident happened at 10 p.m. Wednesday, when Detroit police say a young woman in a west side neighborhood was lured down an alley.
As she was near Puritan and Briggs across from a vacant parking lot, someone approached her from behind. He said he had a gun and blindfolded her before committing the sexual assault.
The only description she was able to give was a short man with light complexion.
After the crime police say the rapist tells his still blindfolded victim to count to 500.
The alley itself is behind a church and a funeral home. Neighbors say it’s a family run funeral home but is all fenced in. leaving a lot of room to go unnoticed.
Adding to the cover is an apparent lack of lighting at night.
"There was an alley light that they took down because they were only going to have one so many feet," said one neighbor.
