Man caught drunk driving with child, weapons inside
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. - A Detroit man is facing several serious charges after he was caught drunk driving with his daughter and gun in the car.
Police pulled over the father at Woodward and Long Lake Road in Bloomfield Hills at 1 a.m. Monday for defective equipment.
The driver, 33, had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit and inside the vehicle was a loaded handgun and Taser.
He told police that he had his 12-year-old daughter with him at the bar before driving, according to police.
The man is facing charges of operating while intoxicated, child endangerment and carrying a concealed weapon while intoxicated.
His daughter was released to her mother under the authority of Child Protective Services.
