Man dies after crashing SUV into pole

DETROIT (FOX 2) - Detroit Police are investigating a fatal accident that happened Monday morning around 12:20 a.m. in the area of Gratiot and East Grand Boulevard. 

Witnesses say the driver, a John Doe between the ages of 25-35, was driving a 2008 Black Chevy Suburban at a high rate and struck a pole. 

The driver was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. 

The passenger, a 21-year-old male, was listed in serious condition.
