Massive teacher sick-out same day as President Obama's Detroit visit

Dozens of Detroit public schools are closed again Wednesday as teachers continue their protest of poor working and learning conditions.

You can find the full, current list of school closings here. Eighty-eight schools were involved. Only six remained open.

This latest sick-out coincides with President Barack Obama's trip to Detroit and follows Governor Snyder's plea to lawmakers to pass legislation to help the struggling district during his State of the State address Tuesday night.

Some teachers staged a protest outside the Hilton Inn downtown, and left on their march to Cobo Hall where President Obama plans to visit the North American International Auto Show. You can hear from them and see footage of the protest in FOX 2's Maurielle Lue's live report above.

This is a developing story. Stay with FOX 2 for live coverage throughout the morning of today's protests.
