Mich. State Police serving high-risk warrant in Detroit

Michigan State Police are serving a high-risk warrant Thursday morning on the Hamtramck-Detroit border, FOX 2 has confirmed. A portion of Ryan Road is closed near Nancy Street is currently closed.

Lt. Shaw with the Michigan State Police tells us MSP is assisting the DEA with the narcotics search warrant, and that an explosive device may be inside the building.

MSP sent in a search robot, and that sweep was completed just before 10 a.m. No explosive devices were found. Michigan State Police blew the door off the side of the building to get another robot inside.

We're told authorities believe the building is unoccupied at this time.

Michigan State Police had earlier identified the area to us as Hamtramck, but the city clerk confirms the building in question is in Detroit.

This is a developing story. Stay with FOX 2 for updates.
