Michigan native revealed as winner of $533 million Mega Millions jackpot
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey lottery officials have revealed the man who won a $533 million Mega Millions jackpot last month.
The announcement will came at a Friday morning news conference in Trenton.
Richard Wahl, a former Michigan resident who moved to New Jersey last year, was revealed as the lone winner of the jackpot.
During the press conference, Richard told the story of how he decided to play the lottery, and when he bought his ticket. He also went into detail about the night he realized he won the money, and how he originally thought he had only one $1 million.
Wahl says he wants the money to not only be 'life-changing money' for him, but also for others.
The sole winning ticket for the March 30 jackpot was sold at a Lukoil station in Riverdale, New Jersey.
Lottery officials say it was the fourth-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history and the largest single jackpot winning ticket ever sold in New Jersey.
Mega Millions is played in 44 states plus Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
