MISSING: Redford teen, honor student Amyra Porter gone a month
REDFORD TWP., Mich. (WJBK) - Amyra Porter is a standout student and a beautiful young girl, who has now been missing for nearly a month.
Her family is desperate to bring the 14-year-old home, and they're hoping the public can end their nightmare. There is a $2,500 reward if you can locate her.
"Words cannot describe going without your daughter, not knowing if she's okay," said her mother, Tonya Porter.
She was last seen by her mother at their Redford home on Riverpark, between Telegraph and West Chicago. That was on Thursday, July 27, 2017. Amyra walked out of the house and has not been seen since. Amyra's family loves her dearly, all they want is their little girl back home.
Amyra is about 5 feet 2 inches and weighs 115 pounds. She's heading into her sophomore year at Redford Thurston High School.
"You got a lot of support, a lot of love for you," said Darryl Porter, her father. "Whoever has you, please let her loose."
The family says they've searched everywhere, talking to Amyra's friends, classmates, and neighbors, and, so far, haven't gotten any clues. They fear she's being held against her will.
"Whoever has her please let her go, I beg you," said Ambrose Taylor, her brother. "Your family loves you. We need you."
Amyra is an honor roll student, who loves gymnastics. She also loves cooking for her family, and hopes to one day become a veterinarian.
But before those dreams can come true, they need to find her.
"We love this young lady," said Bishop Devay Myatt from Christ Temple Baptist Church. "We want to say to you, that this is a great opportunity for communities to come together."
Her family knows she's out there and they promise they won't stop looking.
"This could be your daughter, your sister," said Ashley Watson.
If you know anything about Amyra's disappearance, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Your call will be anonymous.
Crime Stoppers offered an increased reward of $3,500 if the tip was called in Thursday night, after this story aired.
