MISSING: Search is on for Detroit man Robert King

Police and volunteers comb Detroit, searching for any sign of a missing 37-year-old man.

No one has seen or heard from Robert King since Sept. 13 and loved ones are worried he may have harmed himself.

Crime Stoppers and Detroit police were canvassing the neighborhood near W. Grand Boulevard between Warren and Michigan looking for King.

One man says King came to his church, but that was three or four months ago. But now it seems no one has seen him for nearly a month - when he and his black and purple motorcycle - seem to have disappeared.

Investigators say King moved to Detroit from California last spring and had a good job. But on Sept. 13, he left a handwritten suicide note on his bed and took off, taking his computer and his motorcycle with him.

"His family lives in California and we have been in continuous contact with the family - they're very concerned," said Det. Mike Pacteles of Detroit's Third Precinct."

And rightly so, King hasn't picked up his paychecks from work. There's no activity on his bank accounts or credit cards - but it's not clear if he has harmed himself or doesn't want to be found.

"Nobody just up and disappears without any kind of trace whatsoever," said Marcus Brobage of Crime Stoppers. "Even the motorcycle not being seen or found, - is strange."

"We want to bring this guy home, you just don't disappear off the face of the earth like this," said Hassan Williams of Crime Stoppers. "Where he's at, we don't know. That's why we're here now, to ask the public to help us out. Tell us where he's at."
